The design of the Nissan Tekton SUV is inspired by the Patrol and it will be manufactured in India. This SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Victoris by Maruti Suzuki.

Nissan has proudly showcased the design and begun production of the new Nissan Tekton SUV, a meaningful milestone for the company regarding India’s mid-size SUV segment. Similar to the globally recognized Nissan Patrol, the upcoming Tekton features a box-like design that will catch attention. Planned for a 2026 release date, it targets the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the Maruti Suzuki Victoris for its competitors.

The Tekton falls within the competitive C-segment of SUVs, though its robust and dominant design sets it apart from the plethora of soft, curvy, and urban-oriented SUVs available.

The Nissan Tekton design is a great example of classic and modern SUV design coming together. The front features a trapezoidal grille, slatted chrome, and an oversized Nissan emblem. The SUV design is complete with C-shaped LED lamps and thin DRLs.

The sleek design flows from the C-shaped rear lights and the light strip connecting it all and the rear bumper’s protective cladding and rugged aplomb.

CFM-B platform will be heavily localised and reinforced local supply chains will be implemented to ensure the Tekton’s price remains competitive.


Launch Timeline and Manufacturing Plans

Mid 2026 should be safe for the Tekton’s India debut and most likely July to August. Until then a new mpv will be out in early 2026 and another SUV in 2027.

Nissan’s Chennai plant will be the first to manufacture for Tekton’s and it will fulfil the overseas demands for Nissan’s ambitious growth vision.


Nissan Tekton: Powertrain Options

As for the Tekton’s powertrain, no specs have been disclosed as of yet but Nissan has said it will include a hybrid option likely to use the forthcoming 3rd generation Renault Duster hybrid tech and will attract people in the segment of hybrid fuel-efficient SUVs.

A Valid Mid-SUV Contender It’s Hybrid powertrain, advanced features, and rugged design it seems that the Nissan Tekton SUV is set to take on the Creta. With localized production, Nissan seems poised to grab a better spot in India’s ever growing SUV market. If Nissan manages to price the Tekton well, it has the potential to to become an impactful player in the Indian market.
