The Tata Sierra SUV will come back to the Indian market with petrol, diesel, and all-wheel-drive configurations, with an EV version slated for 2026.

Tata Sierra Launch 2025 Tata Motors plans to reintroduce one of its flagship models, the Tata Sierra SUV. It’s anticipated the model will launch in India during November 2025, which will be another milestone for Tata in expanding its SUV offerings.
Initially, Tata Sierra 2025 will be equipped with an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Mid-size SUV. It will compete with well-established competitors like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Mahindra Scorpio-N.
Although the exterior design will be modern and striking, there will be touches of the original 1990s design, for which the original Sierra nostalgically remembered.
Tata Sierra: Engine and Powertrain Options
Tata Sierra will launch with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that will be great for everyday driving in the city. Then Tata will launch a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine which will be able to produce 170bhp for customers that would prefer more power.
The Sierra diesel will also have the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with 170bhp because it is the same engine as the Harrier. There will be a choice of a manual or automatic transmission on the Sierra. The AWD will be more focused on customers that will prefer off-road driving.
With the Sierra EV, Tata will extend its range of electric SUVs, which is expected to launch in January 2026.
Tata Sierra: Interior and Features
The Tata Sierra 2025 is expected to have a triple-screen setup, a 4-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, ambient lighting, as well as ventilated and powered front seats. A 360-degree camera and Level-2 ADAS safety suite are also being developed.
These features signal Tata’s intent to position the Sierra as a premium, tech-loaded everyday SUV.
